The Story of Luhu Stitches

How does a homeschooling mom, wife, and sometimes substitute teacher release her inner artist? By designing counted cross stitch patterns of course!
My name is Cyndy Young and I actually began my artistic career as a three year old with a box of Crayola Crayons and a coloring book. I continued that career by studying Graphic Design in college and eventually having my own little, short lived craft business until the kids started arriving. Now that they are a older and venturing out on their own I have returned to art and design and I am really excited to share with you what has been simmering on the back burner for the last few years.
I am inspired by color, flowers and anything a bit quirky.  Artists, such as Richard Scarry, Mary Blair, Joan Walsh Anglund and Charley Harper are among my favorites and have inspired my art work.. My first medium, that I played around with (other than crayons, which I still love) was paint. When that proved too risky around toddlers I decided to pull out my embroidery thread and found the inspiring world of counted cross stitch. Counted cross stitch is, in my humble opinion, a perfect blend of graphic design and coloring.
And now you know how this mom, wife and teacher releases her inner artist... by designing fun little cross stitch patterns that I hope you will enjoy!
